Macy and Taylor's Airport Surprise Proposal in Hawaii
How We Met: Taylor and I have a lot of mutual friends and we met because we go to the same church and our dads have been friends for years. I remember one of the first times I saw him we were in high school and we were both in relationships but I thought he was so cute. We became friends, although not very close, but friends nonetheless. After years later we began to date but only briefly and then ended things on good terms. Because our parents are friends, we remained friends and due to being older and single we became closer friends. One night Taylor asked me to join he and a buddy so he wouldn’t be a third wheel on a coffee date. We ended up sitting separately and talked until Starbucks began closing up. We were inseparable and two weeks later we were dating! I knew from the moment he handed me a charm bracelet that he made asking me to be his girlfriend that I was going to spend the rest of my life with that man.
How He Asked: After over a year of dating and a long fall semester Taylor and I were planning to reward our selves with a beautiful trip to Kona, Hawaii with his entire family for a family reunion and vacation. When we landed at the cute and quaint little airport in Kona we got off the plane and walked toward baggage claim to start our vacation together. I almost did not even notice that he had four of his little cousins holding up signs that said, “Macy Will You Marry Me?” He got down on one knee and I of course said yes!
After he stood out he pointed out the best part, he made sure even my parents would be there for our special moment! I was so overwhelmed and surprised I couldn’t help but tear up a little. I was once again overwhelmed with love when I looked at the ring he got me. One we had looked at and he knew I had fallen in love with it. He had went and bought the ring only a week after I saw it! He had the ring for over 3 months planning my perfect proposal! After that we got to spend the afternoon together at a resort beach and then got ready and spent the night at an engagement dinner celebrating with our families. Needless to say, he did the impossible and surprised me and I’ve never felt more loved and blessed than I did on that day. I absolutely cannot wait to marry my best friend!
