Aaron and Katie's Photoshoot Marriage Proposal

How We Met: We owe this to Ms. Taylor Burns. Taylor was my roommate at Baldwin Wallace University. Taylor met one of the guys that Aaron worked with on the USCG Cutter Neah Bay. She then eventually met Aaron from hanging out with some of the crew (at first we thought his first name was Duncan!). But Taylor figured that we were both single and we would make a good match! Aaron and I exchanged numbers and started talking on May 4, 2013. The next day Aaron asked me out to dinner, at first I said no because it was finals week, but then I changed my mind and said yes. So, on May 6th, Aaron and I met for the first time. Aaron met me at the door of my apartment with flowers in hand and of course a very clean truck! We then went to Max & Ermas for dinner where we ordered the same salad and it was mostly me asking questions and Aaron talking, we were both so nervous! We hung out a few more times that week and now here we are today!

How He Asked: Aaron and I were in PA visiting his family for a long weekend. On August 8th, 2014, Aaron set up a romantic evening for the two of us. I had really been wanting to do a photoshoot of us, so he was able to set that up.

At the end of the photoshoot the photographer asked if there was anything else we wanted. Aaron suggested I sit down on the bench and as soon as I sat down Aaron was on one knee, asking me to marry him.

It was wonderful and such a romantic area. After the photoshoot we went to a romantic and delicious dinner and then walked around the pond nearby. It was an amazing evening for the two of us, we are so happy and excited for this next step together!
