From the bride: Austin was my manager at Chick-Fil-A and I met him a couple of months after I started following Christ. A few months into Austin working there, he started pursue me. After six months of deeply valuing our friendship, The Lord softened my heart and I finally gave in. We’ve been together 11 months now and nothing has ever felt so right. I’ve been blessed with an amazing young man and I can’t wait to see what The Lord has planned for us!
The proposal couldn’t have gone any better. After we finished our 5k color run, we had lots of friends and family around us at the finish line and he got down on one knee and asked me to begin our own race. I’ve never had an idea on how I wanted my proposal to be but Austin blew me away with his creative idea. It was definitely my kind of perfect.
My favorite memory from the proposal was when our dear friend, Kaeleigh, made arrangements for Austin and I to be up on stage at the color run to announce that Austin had just proposed. Everyone was so pumped and so into the moment, I was overwhelmed to the point of tears.
What I love most about Austin is his passion to follow Christ and that deeply falls into his character. He also makes me laugh like no one has ever made me laugh and I truly value that. The Lord has opened my eyes in so many ways through knowing Austin and He has blessed me with someone greater than I could imagine!
From the groom: When I first moved out here to The Woodlands, I started applying at a few places for work. After a couple days work of applications, I finally ended up at Chick-Fil-A. I’ve been a raving fan for Chick-Fil-A from the beginning so i was very excited about this. I saw it as an amazing opportunity for me to grow and lead in this business. When I first started working there, Katelyn caught my eye from the start. Not only was she very beautiful, but I also loved her love for others. I knew I had to give this a shot. We started hanging out and really getting to know each other. After some time, we finally started dating! FINALLY! We started dating on November 11, 2012, which was also the day when she was baptized! We’ve had our ups and downs, but I knew that no matter what, I had to keep trying because of my love for her.
The proposal: First off, I knew I had to something special for her. A couple of friends told us about this 5K Color Run that was going on in Houston. Then I thought, what a cool and colorful way to propose! I believe I told just about everyone about the event and what I was planning. I really wanted to set a time when she was least expecting it. So on October 27, 2013, we started out race together and I asked my best friend to marry me! It was such an amazing experience with all of my friends and family! I will never forget it!
What was your favorite memory from your proposal?
My favorite part was going on stage in front of hundreds of people cheering us on! One of our very close friends, Kaeleigh Getzie, set this up for us. We were in awe! And it was so thoughtful of Mr. and Mrs. Porter when they prayed over us. It was truly an emotional and humbling moment.
What do you love most about each other?
What I love most about Katelyn is her love for Christ and people. I’ve heard from many of her friends how sweet and supportive she is. The fact that she loves helping and inspiring others as much as I do makes me fall in love with her so much more! Oh.. and she’s so so gorgeous. I’m one lucky guy and I thank God everyday for her!

How We Met: Caitlin and I met in 2008 when I started to work for the same company as her in Pennsylvania. During my 2 years at that company, Caitlin and I only exchanged a handful words. I then moved away to take another job and never …
