How He Asked: Tony had told me he wanted to celebrate our two year anniversary where it all began. I was so excited, and very hopeful Tony was going to pop the big question. However, Tony had recruited my mom to keep me at bay and throw me off at any sign I was thinking it was going to happen.
Angela, Tony’s sister, had asked me to go with her to get our nails done the Friday before our anniversary. I ran to my mom and told her I was so excited and hoping Tony had her ask me because he knew I would need to have pretty nails for a pretty ring. My mom instantly shot me down and said I was definitely reading into things. I believed her, of course. Tony had acted so normal the night before and the morning of our anniversary date that I thought there is no way it happening.
I had a glimmer of hope until Tony absolutely crushed it with taking me to look at rings the morning of!!!! He asked me to go look and all I could think was, ” Well, there is no way he can get me a ring in the next three hours, so it is definitely not happening!” Of course I was a little bummed, but I was still so happy to be celebrating two amazing years with my best friend.
Tony and I got ready and he told me he had a surprise. We arrived at the restaurant and there was a horse and carriage waiting on us. I had told Tony our whole relationship I wanted to ride on one. Tony was attacked by a dalmation when he was younger, and was really not a fan of going on this ride. When I saw the dalmation, I was so impressed and knew Tony was really trying to make our anniversary special. We had a beautiful ride across the adorable downtown Chattanooga. After our ride, Tony told me he had another surprise and we had to walk across the bridge. As we walked across, the boat where we shared our first kiss came into view. Tony started to talk about the boat, our first kiss, and our first date. I had butterflies in my stomach as Tony took me back to where it all began!
Once we reached the boat, Tony turned me around and told me he had been planning this for a year and a half and that I was his best friend. I was FREAKING OUT ! Tony got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of his life with him. Tony could not even make it down to the ground before I yanked him back up to hug and kiss him as I said ” YES! YES!YES!”. Tony had closed the ring box because I was too excited kissing and hugging on him to even look at the ring. Tony finally said, “Uh…Anna….”.
He opened the box and I gasped. Sitting there was the most beautiful ring-even more beautiful than I could have ever imagined! (He had my ring for three months, so him taking me to look at rings the morning of was genius!)
He then surprised me once again, and he pointed down the bridge saying “…and those are the hidden photographers who just captured everything!” I was shocked!! My amazing man just made me the happiest woman and they caught every second of it!
This day was the best day of my life. I could relive this day over and over again and never get tired of it!
